We are the newest Progressive Dealer in the State of Ohio located right in beautiful Medina County. Our goal has always been to raise the best Shire Drafts around and maybe a little Quarter Horse here and there!
It was a challenge keeping our big horses in good body condition...not that they were thin....they were too fat!!! As I reduced the amount of feed they were consuming all the way down to a pound a day I realized that they had to be missing some good nutrients when the recommended amount was-at the minimum-6 pounds a day.
That is when I was introduced to Progressive and the ProAdvantage Grass Diet Balancer. Not a feed-but a pelleted amino acid and mineral supplement that gave the horses what they were lacking from just their hay alone. The diet balancer is a low calorie supplement for those 'easy keepers'. I feel better now....they get 2 pounds of that a day! Yep-thats it....2 pounds a day to get them EVERYTHING nutrionally that they need along with their hay and of course a few treaties here and there! I have had people tell me they always wanted a draft horse but thought they could not afford to feed them-That, my friends is a myth. My horses eat the same, if not a little less, than the typical light horse. Let me tell you more.............
